Here you can pass the geometry to the Node on which you want to create a random-looking polygon selection.

The selection is based on familiar patters as are also provided by the Noise shader. Since these patterns are made up of grayscale or brightness values between 0% and 100% the Threshold value can be used to adjust these values and with it the number of selected elements without modifying the Noise setting.
