Welcome!
Thank you for trying out Pancake! Pancake is a utility plugin for Cinema 4D that quickly and safely restores a scene from your backup directory. It is compatible with Cinema 4D R12/R13 on OS X 10.6 or later. In addition to restoring a backup scene file, Pancake adds the following:
• Ability to rename the scene file that is being restored.
• Option to delete the original backup scene file or delete all the files in the backup directory.* • Create an archive file (zip) of all your backup files for the current scene.
• Menu option to quickly navigate to the backup directory.
*Files are sent to trash bin. System Requirements
• Apple Mac OS X v10.6 or later.
• Microsoft Windows 7 Mac.
• Maxon® Cinema 4d® R12 or later.
Installation
You have two options. You can place the Pancake folder in your user plugins directory (Mac) e.g: '/Users/UserName/ Library/Preferences/MAXON/CINEMA 4D R1X_XXXXXXXX/plugins'. This the recommended installation path.
You can also place it in the plugins directory located in the main Cinema 4D installation folder. Usually, 'Applications/ MAXON/Cinema 4D RXX/plugins/'. However, make sure you have the proper permissions for the Applications directory.
Just drag the whole Pancake folder into either one of the above folders and you are good to go!
How do I use Pancake?
Pancake will be available in your Python menu in Cinema 4D R12 and under Plugins in Cinema 4D R13.
Just select a file from your backups in the drop down list and hit restore. Pancake will quickly and safely open up the file for you. No need to hunt around for the files. Pancake will rename the backup file for you, so your original stays safely stashed away in the backup directory. You also have the option of deleting the original file, as well as renaming the file that is being restored if you don't like the default name.
Are the backup files taking too much space. Pancake can also delete all the backup files for the current scene or if you prefer, package them up in a tidy zip file for archiving purposes. Need the files you deleted back? No problem! Pancake does not permanently delete the backup files. It just sends them to the trash.
