Delta Mush is a deformer used to smooth the results of a mesh being affected by another deformer placed before it. It is intended to be used primarily with characters and Skin deformers, but can be used with any object and deformer. Unlike the regular Smooth deformer, the Delta Mush deformer is best used to preserve the maximum amount of details as well as the volume of the object it affects.

It can be used as any other deformer, and comes as a tag to fine tune multiple objects affected by the same deformer and/or to constrain the deformer to specific points using vertex maps. This is very useful to restrict the smoothing to the elbows and knees of your character without smoothing details out of other areas of your mesh, for example, or to smooth out notoriously hard to weight areas, such as shoulders and hips.

Since it calculates the amount of smoothing applied based on the initial amount of deformation of each vertex, the smoothing will work in conjunction with joint weights and Skin deformer, easing the weighting process in general.
